Becoming a Group Leader (or Trip Organiser)
Any traveller on MyBreakTrip who creates a group trip becomes the Group Leader (GL). The GL takes the lead in setting up the itinerary and inviting other travelers. Then everyone communicates on the traveller blog to discuss and finalise the trip itinerary. Once the group has agreed on the trip itinerary (e.g. flights, hotel, activities, etc.), we work with our UK holiday suppliers or travel agents to give you the most competitive quotes. The larger the group, the cheaper the deal!
Group Leader Goes Free!
MyBreakTrip will pay 50% of the travel agent commission that it earns, to the group organiser. Depending on the size of the group and the overall commission level, this could mean that the organiser’s trip is free or even that the organiser gets a free trip AND makes a profit.
For example, MyBreakTrip receives 9% commission on some hotel bookings. For a hotel booking of 25 people at £150 per person, this means that the commission earned is £337.50 of this figures is £168.75, which means that the organiser’s booking is FREE and he also earns a small profit.
A free trip for the organiser is only guaranteed where sufficient people join the trip such that 50% of the overall travel agent commissioner is greater than or equal to the organiser’s trip cost. MyBreakTrip reserves the right to withdraw this offer at any time, but not once a booking has may made on these terms.
What can you do as a Group Leader?
You can create a trip by just setting the origin and the destination of your trip. It doesn't matter if you don't have all the details now regarding dates, duration, budget or activities. You can always edit your trip and add these details later.
So let's say you wish to travel with your mates from London to Ibiza this summer. Once you create your trip, you can send out trip invitations either on Facebook or by Email to everyone you wish to invite to your trip. Your friends will receive the invitation and join your trip.
Let's say 10 travellers have joined your trip including yourself. Now you can start talking about the details of your trip on the mini-blog of the trip's page; Where would you like to go? What are the most convenient dates for everyone? What is the maximum (or a range) you wish to spend for your trip? and so on...
MyBreakTrip is traveller-centric holiday website which means the travellers tell our suppliers what they want on their trip; not the other way around. Unlike other holiday websites, we don't have ready packages or search engine because all our quotes are tailor-made to the travellers' trip requests.
My trip is ready, what happens next?
Our holiday suppliers will review your trip request and provide quotes tailor-made to your trip. We work hard to ensure that most trips receive as many quotes as possible. For your trip to Ibiza, there are 3 quotes. Everyone on your trip has a saying but voting for his/her preferred quote.
The Group Leader makes the final decision and if the group wishes to move ahead with one of the quotes then everyone has the option to pay individually online.
Everything happens into a single place which is what we call an "all-in-one" trip booking experience!
